Hi, I am Allegra Benson.  I have been teaching at Cottonwood for 6 years.  I began at CCE when my youngest son, Cobe, was in Kindergarden.  I also have an older son, Kayden.  You could say I am the youngest of the bunch of the "Benson Clan,"  Kayden is a 6th grader, Cobe is a 5th grader, and I am still in 3rd!!!!  I began teaching in Temecula before Kayden was born.  I feel that my own kids have molded me to be a better teacher day after day.  I strive for excellence in myself when teaching.  I really enjoy teaching the children with songs and chants.  I have found that this type of strategy really works!  So when they come home singing, I hope you let them teach it to you!

I have a husband, the 2 children and just a handful of animals:  Our new addition Maxum the mighty Morkie, Jake a Labadoodle, Roxy a Lab, Maggie a Cockapoo, Timmy the cat, Abby the cat, Mesa my Chestnut Quarter horse,  Fred our white female turkey, and egg laying 7 hens.  These are the animals that I actually know about.  So, before coming to school and when I come home we are busy.  Not to mention the things that my own kids do after school.  So, I do really understand how busy everyone's schedules are.

My goal is to guide your child to achieve what he/she is capable of and bring them beyond to not only meet, but exceed their capabilities. I want them to enjoy learning and maintain a positive attitude. I would like them to also give their best effort, be responsible for their work, actions, and to be organized. I hope that they will learn something new each day and value all that they have learned this school year.

I can’t do all this alone.  I need your participation and guidance at home. I know that they are growing up, but…. They still need to read with you, or at you, or even you can read to them.  They need your organization skills demonstrated at home, and your commitment to what their learning so they stay committed.  I look forward to an exciting year and partnership with you and your child.
