Agenda for the week of 9-7 to 9-10

Language Arts:

This week we are starting our third reading selection in our Houghton Mifflin series.

Class work:  Theme 1 “Journeys”- Reading Selection 3 “Finding the Titanic” by Robert Ballard.  Textbook pages 82-101.  Practice book pages 38-52. 

Homework:   

Reading: 20 minutes nightly and summarize what you read in one paragraph nightly on your log.

Vocabulary - Use the glossary of your textbook to look up and write down the definitions.  If you do not find the word in your textbook glossary, use a dictionary.

Vocabulary Words for the Week: wreckage,shipwreck, unsinkable, voyage, plaques, survivors

Spelling Homework- One spelling activity nightly, (Tuesday -Thursday) 

 Monday- No school

Tuesday- Write each word 3 times

Wednesday- Have a parent give you a spelling test

Thursday- Write a creative story using your spelling words. 

Spelling Words for the Week: brush, juice, fruit, tube, lunch, crumb, few, true, truth, done, suit, pump, due, dull, tune, blew, trunk, sum, glue, threw

Math:  We are currently on Topic 3 Multiplication and Division Meanings and Facts 

Homework:   

Tuesday Topic 3 -4 textbook pages 64 and 65 problems 1-24 

Wednesday-Topic 3-5 textbook pages 68 and 69 problems 1-16

Thursday-Topic 3-6 textbook pages 70 to 72 problems 1-18 

Science/Block 

 Eco-systems continued “Focus on Community and Energy” Unit A Lesson 4 What are Water Eco-Systems?
