News From the Land of 3rd Grade

Week 8

October 6 th - October 10th

This week we will be having the District Inspect Tests in Language Arts and Mathematics. These tests measure the growth of each student in various California State Standards. As we reviewed last week, the students saw the assignments they have completed match the California Standards and felt very proud of themselves in knowing they could pass. These are the topics we will be learning this week.

Language Arts: The Talking Cloth, by Rhonda Mitchell, is a Children's Book of the Year. Amber loves to visit her Aunt Phoebe. On this visit, Aunt Phoebe tells Amber and her father about a particular cloth, called adinkra cloth, that she bought in Africa.
